Shivraj Singh of Jodhpur

Yuvraj (Prince) Shivraj Singh (born 30 September 1975), is the son of erstwhile Maharaja Gaj Singh and erstwhile Maharani Hemlata Rajye, daughter of the late Raja Shivratan Deo Singh of Poonch and H.R.H. Princess Nalini Rajye Lakshmi of Nepal in Dehra Dun

He got engaged  to Gayatri Kumari Pal from the erstwhile royal family of Askot in Uttaranchal on March 10, 2010. The engagement ceremony took place at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, in the presence of Shivraj’s father, Gaj Singh II, mother Hemlata Rajye and elder sister Shivranjini Rajye. Gayatri is studying computer graphics and animation. The wedding took place on November 18, 2010 at the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur.

The Baiji Lal Sahiba Shivranjani Rajye

The Baiji Lal Sahiba Shivranjani Rajye, the princess, was born in 1974 and educated at the Welham Girls High School, Dehra Dun, Bryanston College, Dorset, and New Hall, Cambridge, where she finished with a Batchelor’s Degree in Archaeology and Anthropology. The princess has also studied film making at the New School in New York. Presently in Jodhpur she manages the Maharaja’s publishing company, Mehrangarh Publishers.

The Maharani Hemlata Rajye

In 1970, Gaj Singh returned to Jodhpur to take up his duties as titular then Maharaja of Jodhpur and head of the Rathore clan. In 1973, he wed Hemalata Rajye, daughter of the Raja of Poonch, a major feudatory state of Kashmir state and his wife Princess Nalini Rajye Lakshmi Devi of Nepal.

Maharaja Gaj Singh II of Jodhpur

Gaj Singh was born the only son of Maharaja Hanwant Singh of Jodhpur by his wife, Maharani Krishna Kumari of Dhrangadhra. Gaj Singh belongs to the Suryavanshi (Origin from the Surya-Kula) family of Rajputs. He succeeded to the titles and dignities of his father when only four years of age, in 1952, when his father died suddenly in a plane crash. He was enthroned shortly afterwards.
